Everyone and Every Dog Needs a Place of Their Own. But
with so many dogs ... and so many beds ... how do you choose? We
suggest that you start with Type,
consider Fill and finally select your Size.
Types of Dog Beds:
Classic Pillow Dog Beds
appeal to all dogs; they come in both round and rectangular sizes
with a variety of washable fabric covers. Nest Dog Beds
provide cozy retreats and appeal to smaller dogs and cats. Many
larger dogs prefer a Bolster
Dog Bed or Pet Sofa. Dog owners like Decorative
and designer pet
beds - these come in wood, wicker and metal and can be
matched to a home's décor.
Specialty dog beds include Orthopedic Dog
Beds which use medical grade foams to add extra support for older
and disabled dogs. Outdoor
Dog Beds are waterproof, some feature sunshades and most sit off the ground
for added ventilation. Heated
Dog Beds are available for both
indoor and outdoor use to create that warm and cozy spot.
Dog
Bed Fill:
Fillers include foam, poly-fiber and and mixtures of poly-fiber mixed
with odor reducing materials such as activated carbon and cedar chips. Hypoallergenic
Dog Beds are also available in 100% natural cotton and are good for dogs
with allergies. Some Pillow Dog Beds
and Orthopedic Dog Beds have a mixture of
both regular foam and memory foam - this produces top quality bed for
your dog.
What is memory foam? It's denser than regular foam - but
unlike the name suggests, it does not hold any memory. It will retain its original
shape and will not mat after long use. It's pretty amazing stuff!
Does
Size Matter?
It does to you and it does to your dog. Too small is
always wrong! The filling in pillow beds and the bolsters
on pet sofas reduce useable diameter. If you are in doubt,
select a larger size - in most cases the price is not much
more.

Tips on How to Measure your
Dog for a Pet Bed:
Measure your pet while laying in their normal sleeping position. Start from the
front legs or nose and measure to the back legs or rump.
Then add about
9” to this measurement to come up with the required pet bed
size.
Typically round pet beds provide the least amount of extra
space for your pet while rectangular beds produce the maximum
amount of sleeping area. For larger dogs over
80lbs our Bolster
Dog Beds or Pet Sofas are a
great choice.
